An extraordinary example of social capital and human cooperation capacity [video]

Yom HaShoah, the Holocaust memorial day in Israel. On this day, a single siren is sounded throughout the entire country of Israel. During the siren, everything, everywhere in the country stops. An extraordinary example of how high reserves of social capital, understood as the existence of shared common values and beliefes in a given society, increases the human capacity to automatically generate cooperation forms.

Here is a video of Israelis stopping their car in the middle of the road to stand in remembrance of the 6 million Jews murdered by the Nazi regime when the siren sounds.
